Details about our private tutoring

Your in-home maths tutor will cover maths tuition at all levels of schooling. We provide Primary School Maths Tutors who focus on basic numeracy skills (such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions and basic algebra). We also provide private Maths Tutors who cover all aspects of the Secondary School syllabus through to HSC level maths as well.

Are the lessons private or in groups?

Both. We offer three types of tutoring: Private, Group and Online.

Private tutoring can take place at your home, local library or the tutor’s studio – whichever is more convenient for you. Group tutoring can take place at any of our group campuses, or at a tutor’s own studio or library. Online tutoring can take place anytime and anywhere that is convenient for both the student and the tutor.

Which suburbs do your tutors travel to?

Our tutors travel to all capital cities in Australia. We also cover almost all other suburbs. If none of our 400+ tutors are able to travel to you, we'll go the extra step and reach out to our contacts to find any suitable and available tutors.

How much do lessons cost?

We have among the most competitively priced lessons and we never compromise our quality for cheaper rates.

Prices range from $30 - $50 per hour for group classes and $50 - $100 for private lessons. Pricing varies based on the experience of your tutor, whether they're a qualified teacher, length of the lesson and your selected location.

How long do lessons last?

Lesson length depends on your requirements. Your tutor will assess where you're up to and the amount of time available and work out a plan with you to help achieve your study goals. 

To cover the course content in a standard amount of time, most lessons are approx. 1.5 - 2.5 hours. We suggest you discuss this directly with your tutor to suit your requirements.

All our tutors have been cleared by the relevant state’s Working with Children Check and hold or are on the way of attaining relevant qualifications in their teaching discipline. Do tutors communicate with the teachers/school?

When required and with permission, your tutor can reach out to your school or teacher to build an open communication about your requirements and progress of a subject. This provides a holistic approach where there’s less fragmented education, resulting in a more efficient learning experience.

Do tutors speak any other languages besides English?

We offer language tutoring for a range of languages – View all languages here.

In some circumstances, if a tutor is available, other subjects such as English and Maths may be able to be held in another language if a particular tutor is available. Please let us know your requirements, and we’ll do the best we can to accommodate your needs.
